The CPU uses Intel Virtualization technology to give the user maximum system usage. As a side note, it allows the system equipped with the CPU to be more resilient in a bad situation. The Enhanced Intel Speedstep technology allows the CPU to give high performance, while conserving power at the same time. The Intel 64 architecture allows the system running the CPU to be compatible with 64-bit applications, and improves performance. When compared to another Intel processor from the Xeon line, the W3580, the X3230 has some disadvantages, including a lower clock speed (2.66GHz compared to 3.33GHz) and the lack of support for certain technologies (such as Intel Trusted Execution technology).
