Intel Xeon W3580

The Intel Xeon W3580 is a high-end CPU. It is designed to be used in severs with a heavy amount of traffic and applications. It features four cores, support for ECC memory, and Intel Demand Based Switching.

The CPU uses four cores in order to split up tasks and applications, and allows the server to run more efficiently and with more power. The ECC memory support allows the Xeon W3580 to check data integrity, and can help improve the quality of memory functions. The Intel Demand Based Switching technology allows the CPU to function with reduced voltage and clockspeed until they are required. When compared to another Xeon CPU by Intel, the E7530, the W3580 has some disadvantages, including a lower number of cores (four as opposed to six), and a smaller cache (8MB compared to 12MB). However, the W3580 has some features and technologies the E7539 doesn't have, including Intel Trusted Execution technology.
