The Intel Pentium Extreme 955 is the first x86 dual-core microprocessor from the Smithfield series, initially launched on April 16th, 2005. A precursor to the Pentium D 820, 830, 840, and 805 models, the Extreme 955 is a 3.2GHz Hyper-Threading enabled CPU that supports MMX, SSE, SSE2, SSE3, Enhanced Intel Speedstep Technology (EIST), Intel 64, and XD Bit.
