The Core Solo line can be considered as a budget processor line catering for low cost notebooks. Its highend brothers are the Core Duo line which are based on the same technologies but two cores. It has Intel's Enhanced Speed Step technology which will automatically alter the clock speed of the processor depending of load thus using only as much power as it is required to.
