Intel Core 2 Quad Q9100
$851.00
Released December, 2008
The Pros:Twice the L2 cache and a better clock speed than the Q9000. Compatible with a wide variety of motherboards, well supported by everyone in the computer industry. Generally runs fairly cool, doesn't need any special cooling system beyond a basic CPU fan.
The Cons:Big price jump over the Q9000 without a big jump in performance. A few years old now, has been replaced by other CPUs that run faster and at a better price.
