Intel Core 2 Duo SL9600

$316.00 Released July, 2008

Product Shot 1The Core 2 Duo SL9600 is the top-of-the-line model in Intel's SL series of mobile processors, based on a fifth-generation Centrino core, codenamed Montevina. The dual-core, 45nm, 64-bit CPU clocks in at 2.13 GHz, and features an L2 cache of 6 MB.

It is a step up from the 1.86GHz SL9400, to which it is otherwise alike. The 22mm SL-series CPUs are identical in size to the models in Intel's SP series, a similar line of energy-efficient, low-form-factor CPUs, but have an even lower TDP of 17 W. Additional clock speed, however, is sacrificed to achieve these sub-notebook-friendly specifications. To older Centrino models, the SL9600 adds SSE4.1 support and a higher front side bus speed of 1066 MHz. After a short delay, Montevina CPUs were released in July and August 2008.
