Product Shot 1The Intel Atom Z520 is a 45nm single core processor intended to be primarily used in mobile internet devices and portable computers such as netbooks and nettops. The processor is part of Intel's Z-series, a product line designed for much higher energy efficiency than previously released processors without lower processing power.

To that end, the Intel Atom Z520 has a TDP of 2 watts which allows for less power to be consumed by the processor which leads to signficantly longer battery life out of a charge. The processor has a clock speed of 1.33 Ghz, 512k cache, 533 Mhz FSB speed (memory), and is intended for use with 32-bit versions of operating systems.

Model Variations

The Intel Atom Z520 also has an alternative model called the Intel Atom Z520PT. This processor is an embedded version of the Atom Z520 and has a higher TDP at 2.2 watts, slightly higher operating temperatures, and has a smaller package size. The Atom Z520PT also supports a different socket: FCBGA437
