Product Shot 1The Intel Atom E680 is a low-end CPU. It is similar to another Intel CPU from the Atom E600 line, the Atom E660T. Both CPUs appear to share nearly every feature with each other, such as being available in halogen free models, and  Intel Virtualization technology.

However, there is one main difference; the Atom E680 has a higher clockspeed than the Atom E660T (1.6Ghz versus 1.3Ghz). The Atom E680 features Enhanced Intel Speedstep technology, which enables high performance in the CPU, while conserving energy. It manages to do this by switching between high and low voltage and frequency levels in accordance to the CPU load. It also features integrated graphics that eliminate the need to purchase and install a separate GPU. By allowing the CPU itself to handle the graphics of the computer, the user does not need to spend extra money on a GPU, or take the time to install one on their computer. As well as these features, the Atom E680 supports up to 2GB of DDR2 RAM, letting the user run many applications at once without any slowdown.
