AMD Turion 64 X2 TL-60
$210.00
Released May, 2007
The Pros:2.0 GHz processor allows for optimal speed when using DDR2 667 Ram(333MHz). Dual core. Dual memory controller can reduce bottleneck effect on Ram.
The AMD Turion 64 X2 TL-60 is a 2.0 GHz dual core processor for mobile computers. An efficient 65-nm Silicon-Germanium based core provides low heat dissipation and low power consumption, a step up from the original 90-nm Silicon-on-Insulator(SOI) technology.

These compete with Intel's line of Core and Core 2 processors in the mobile CPU market and are able to run at lower speeds than Intel processors while being more affordable. A key feature of this family of CPU's is the dual memory controller which enables dual streams of Ram at the same time, freeing up Ram and reducing bottleneck(identical sticks of Ram must be used). Since it's initial release in 2007, more powerful processors have since been developed although for the price it remains competitive. It should be noted that the TL-60 is the only CPU in this line that can run DDR2 667 memory at full speed owing to the fact that 2.0 GHz divided by 6 is 333MHz which is the optimal speed for this Ram.
