AMD Phenom X4 9850
$205.00
Released July, 2008
The Pros:Solid processor that will last for years. Fast enough processing to be future-proof for a few years at least. Handles basic processing jobs quickly, no noticeable processing lag on the system.
The Cons:Doesn't come with a fan, need to pick one up separately. Need to apply thermal paste yourself. No option to overclock the processor.
Introduced after the rest of the 2008 Phenom line-up, the AMD Phenom X4 9850 represents the top-of-the-line non-BE AMD processor. Based on the pre-existing 9850 Black Edition there is little difference, except for the locked multiplier, a non-issue for those who have no interest in over clocking their computer hardware.
