The Pros:Great performance for the price--can handle modern CPU-intensive tasks well. Stock fan performs well with stock use, even with minor overclocking. Great overclocker--instances of almost 3GHz with stock cooling.
The Cons:Pretty much entirely out of date as compared to AMD's newer AM3 offerings. Windows 7 issue--not all cores are properly utilized, making it run at half capacity. Stock fan is a little loud in mid-to-high load situations.
Released a month after the 9500 and 9600, the AMD Phenom X4 9600 BE uses the same naming convention as AMD's earlier dual core models. The BE (Black Edition) suffex denotes only one crucial difference between the two models.
