AMD Phenom II X4 900e

The Phenom II X4 900e is a higher-end quad-core desktop processor, one of several 45nm CPUs introduced by AMD in 2009. Supporting both DDR-2 memory and DDR-3 (through Socket AM3), the Deneb-based unit clocks in at 2.4 GHz.

It features 4 x 512KB L2 and 6MB L3 associative caches. The 65W CPU also features HyperTransport 3.0 technology, which scales performance to minimize power consumption, and Cool'n'Quiet technology, which reduces noise and heat output. Integrated EVP, or Enhanced Virus Protection, aims to defend against certain viruses. The 900e differs only slightly from the 905e, which features a frequency of 2.5 GHz, and is more available on the consumer market.
