AMD Phenom II X3 705e

The Phenom II X3 705e is a higher-end triple-core desktop processor, one of several 45nm CPUs introduced by AMD in 2009. Supporting both DDR-2 and DDR-3 memory, the 'Heka'-based unit clocks in at 2.5 GHz.

It features 3 x 512KB L2 and 6MB L3 caches. The 65W CPU also features HyperTransport 3.0 technology, which scales performance to minimize power consumption, and Cool'n'Quiet technology, which reduces noise and heat output. Integrated EVP, or Enhanced Virus Protection, aims to defend against certain viruses. Technically, the 705e differs only slightly from the 700e, which is slower at 2.4 GHz. The 700e is available retail, however, while the 700e is OEM-only.
