AMD Athlon X2 4600+
$58.00
Released May, 2006
The Pros:Heat sink and fan (included) work very well out of box, easy to install and regulate temperature well. Heatsink cooling capacity is much improved over previous generation AMD processors. Noticeable improvement in multi-tasking capacity over single-core AMD models.
The Cons:3D gaming causes noticeable slowdowns.
While not the flashiest of computer processors the AMD Athlon X2 4600+ makes up for it's lack of power and energy efficiency in price. Aimed at competing with Intel in the low end market, basic Athlon X2 processors such as the 4600+ cost only a fraction of what they did months ago.
